Toilet Building Handover to Phulchowki Secondary School

On December 16, 2023, a ceremony marked the successful conclusion of a significant initiative undertaken by the Rotary Club of Yala to enhance sanitation facilities at Phulchowki Secondary School in Thaiba, Ward No. 14, Godavari Municipality. President Rtn Shobha Devi Shrestha officially presented the key to a newly constructed toilet building to Niroj Bajracharya, President of the school’s management committee. Mr. Bajracharya, also serving as the Chairperson of Godavari Municipality-14, then passed on the key to Gopal Pandey, the school’s Principal.

The recently constructed toilet building, featuring separate facilities for boys and girls, will directly benefit more than 1,300 students. This collaborative project, with a total cost of Rupees 32 lakhs, involved the joint efforts of the Rotary Club of Yala, the school, and international partners including the Rotary Club of Jindalee, Australia, and Rotary District 3292 Nepal, Bhutan. Additionally, contributions were made by six individual Rotarians.

The ceremony began with a touching rendition of the Nepalese national anthem performed by the school’s Scout troop.
