Mahalaxmisthan Temple Cleaning
The famous Mahalaxmi Temple is located in Lagankhel, Lalitpur. As a consort of Vishnu, Mahalaxmi is one of the three great Shaktis and is worshipped as the goddess of wealth and property. The temples are important sites where the local communities pay a visit in the morning and sing bhajan as a way of purifying mind, put lights and give offering to birds and animals. These places, despite richness in heritage do not have a regular cleaning system and remains dirty and stained with oil, vermillion powder and rice, flowers. If cleaned properly, these places can be great cultural heritage parks.
On 27th April 2023, Rotarians from Rotary Club of Yala and Members of Vintage Classics Wheels Nepal joined together with the cleaning inside out of Mahalaxmi temple. So, the dirty temple is turned clean and gave an example of how rotary members do the community service in publicly important spaces. The initiative aims to create a clean and welcoming environment for devotees who visit the temple for worship.
