Digital Video Colposcopy Machine Handover
Nepal Cancer Relief Society (NCRS), Lalitpur District Branch has been providing services related to cancer since last 2 decade. In view of the current need related to cancer test NCRS was looking for modern machines. Yesterday on behalf of Rotary Club of Yala, Chairman of this organization Mr Gautam Shrestha handed over Digital Video Colposcopy machine to the Chairman of NCRS Mr. Shailendra Lal Pradhan. The Digital Video Colposcopy system is a powerful high definition camera and imaging module used for clinical examinations of the cervix, vulva and vagina.
A Colposcopy is a microscope fitted with a light and used for examining the uterine cervix, particularly for warning signs of cancer. Using the device, abnormal tissue or blood vessel development in the vagina and around the cervix can be identified and tissue samples taken for biopsy, if necessary.
A team of skilled doctors and skilled technicians from Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center (NCHRC) will available for assist to use of this machine. In addition, with the aim of serving the treatment of cancer which is being operated by the NCRS, to provide breast cancer surgery and other free treatment, Rotary Club of Yala, NCRS, Nepal Cancer Support Group and Helping Hands for Treatment, MOU was signed between NCHRC. President of NCHRC, Rtn Dr Sudip Shrestha, in his speech, expressed that the treatment of cancer should not only be done within the city but also reach the remote areas and serve the people there.
Chairman of Rotary Club of Lalitpur, Chairman of Lalitpur Industry and Commerce Association and Chief Guest of the event, Bikashman Shrestha, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 5 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, expressed their wish to support the NCRS as much as possible to treat cancer.
In the end, the Chairman of the program, Mr Shailendra Lal Pradhan, the Chairman of the NCRS, Lalitpur branch, gave special thanks to Rtn Surendra Govind Joshi for the financial support for Digital Colposcopy machine. The program was ended by thanking all those present for their continuous service in the treatment of cancer-related diseases and expecting the necessary support for this work.
